ICAS stands for International Competitions and Assessments for Schools. It is a test made by Australia, that New Zealand and Australian kids take. There is ICAS Spelling, ICAS Maths, ICAS English (reading) and ICAS Technology.
The test normally has 30 - 50 questions depending on how old you are, at HES Year 4s take test A, Year 5s take test B and Year 6s take test C. You have at least 45 minutes to complete the test. The questions are supposed to be challenging, so our deputy Mrs Bobsein tells us not to rush otherwise we might get lots of the questions wrong cause we didn't think them through. But then again we have 45 minutes to complete it, so you you should find a good pace.
The answers are sent back to Australia into a computer that marks it. Then on the next Friday, Mrs Bobsein will hand out distinctions, certificates of achievement, Participation and If you got them all right! Have a good weekend x
